IntroductionFor many centuries, computers have been used by humans to make complex calculations simpler. In the past, merchants and others would use computers to calculate money and other sums of numbers accurately, quickly, and efficiently. Granted, it wasn't until the modern computer came out that computers became an important part to the world's population. Information can be stored, shared, and found within minutes. Previously tedious and time consuming tasks become quick and simple. Computers became a device for a wide amount of applications, varying from simple entertainment to tools of destruction.
Of course, the computers used today didn't just pop out of thin air. There have been many different ideas and inventions that came together to form the modern computers. What's more, many of the concepts that form a modern computer were not even thought of for the purpose of computing. At the time of creation, some of the most important components that make up a computer could be dismissed as unimportant or only an interesting thought and nothing more. |
